Dandelion

The animation focuses on the waste management aspect of the environmental issue and utilises the dandelion flower as a symbol for hope and regeneration after humans have turned the Earth into a wasteland. The protagonist of the story is a anthropomorphised dandelion flower sprout that is seeing the world for the first time. Walking legs of pedestrians are shown to pass by the flower and heartlessly throw rubbish on the lawn. I chose not to show the upper bodies of the pedestrians as a satire to criticise the ignorant and indifferent attitudes people have towards nature. As the trash fill up the grass field and screen, the flower resurfaces as a dandelion to signify that nature will always find its way back.
